Full of surprises.....
12 glowing eyes danced across the road carried by 24 quick black feet. The humped backs of six little bodies rocking as they scurried, tails trailing behind them, silhouetted against the oncoming headlights. I stopped to watch them safely arrive on the curb, where Mom & Dad dutifully counted their brood before the group ambled off to scrounge for their evening meal.

Frozen on the grey cement, long ears pricked forward, the endless depths of her brown eyes filled with apprehension. Smooth brown fur lay over her taught muscles flexing in anticipation. "Well, hello there!" spoken softly in surprise, rewarded only with a glimpse of the bobbing white fluff of her tail as she scampered into the bushes. Two mornings in a row we greeted each other.

It's amazing how nature works- creatures finding harmony with humans in unlikely places........an urban wilderness.

bunnies!!!!
(they were bunnies right?)
do I get a prize for guessing?
cool!
Well, the second one is a bunny....or two bunnies on different days- I'm not sure. The first group is a family of raccoons that I actually saw on the way home from your house last week after dinner. It was the neatest thing to see all six of them lumbering across the road. I was terrified that they would get hit- but all made it safely across. :)
And yes.....you get a prize. What exactly I'm not sure....LOL!
